Suilven still dominates the view, rising steeply from Loch na Gainimh, but the steep ground falling to the west and north gives great depth and makes Canisp a superb viewpoint. The number of opportunities for Lochinver walks are simply massive and, even going at my typically breakneck pace of travel, repeat visits are simply essential. Once you gain altitude the ground becomes much firmer, eventually turning to Gneiss* rock. Of the two, Suilven is certainly the more iconic, frequently climbed & photographed.
